Common questions

The sky looks wrong / it won't find my location.

Ephemerous needs location to draw your true horizon. Grant it in Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services › Stars (While Using). Away from home, the top pill shows coordinates instead of “Here” — tap Here to return to your own sky.

Does it work in the southern hemisphere?

Yes — anywhere on Earth, both hemispheres. Travel the map to any latitude and the horizon, twilight, and celestial view all re-draw honestly for that spot.

How do I travel through time?

Tap the date pill to raise the crown, then wind Hours, Days, Months, or Years. The Sun, Moon, and planets all move to match. Tap Now to snap back to the present.

How do I remember a star or constellation?

Tap it, then tap the heart. Remembered objects stay marked on your sky and sync across your devices through iCloud.

The widget or Apple Watch face looks out of date.

Widgets refresh on their own schedule; open the app once to push a fresh update. The Orloj on Apple Watch reads the location the phone app last used — open Stars on the phone to update it.

What do I need to run it?

An iPhone or iPad on iOS/iPadOS 26 or later. The Orloj watch app needs watchOS 26 or later.
